What is Earth Log?

Earth Log is a pre-made fire log that is eco-friendly. They burn hotter than average firewood therefore producing less smoke. The ash is easier to clean too. The fire logs are made from scrap paper and candle wax, which allows them to be scented.

Did They Strike a Deal?

Yes, they did. Tom Sanetti made a deal on the show with Lori Greiner. The deal was $160,000 for 35% of the business. But, the deal ultimately fell through post-show.

Shark Tank Recap

Kevin O’Leary, aka: “Mr. Wonderful” wanted to know how Tom’s Earth Logs were different from the competition. Tom had an answer for him: they’re less expensive. At the time Tom went on the show, he was in talks to do deals with Costco and Albertsons, but was struggling with manufacturing.

Mark Cuban liked the product, but did not make an offer. Same went for guest shark Nick Woodman. Mark’s reasoning was that it was “too much work”; Nick said Tom was “trying to go from zero to a thousand miles an hour.” So, both of them are out. Kevin went out, too.

In the end, it was Lori Greiner who struck a deal with Tom for Earth Logs. She said it reminded her of ScreenMend, the DIY repair solution, and she likes everything about Earth Logs. She was looking forward to getting Earth Logs into a lot of retailers.

Who is Tom Sanetti?

Tom Sanetti founded Earth Logs. The idea for Earth Logs came about when he was trying to find an effective way to burn junk mail. After combining scrap paper with candle wax, he began using the logs himself, and soon, friends were asking where they could get some. He eventually began to sell them, and went on Shark Tank to take his business to the next level. He manufactured Earth Logs through his company American Green Products, where he still works today.

Are They Still in Business?

No, Earth Log went out of business in 2018. The website is defunct and they have zero social media presence
