Beth Zotter and Amanda Stiles are the CEOs and co-founders of Umaro Foods.  They will be on ABC’s Shark Tank on April 1, 2022 to pitch the sharks at a chance for investor to join their company.


Beth Zotter

Life

Beth currently resides in San Francisco Bay, California.  

Education

Beth attended Harvard University and received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy.  She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Energy and Resources from University of California, Berkeley.  

Beth Zotter got an almost perfect score on one of the hardest tests teens face, the SATs.  She received a 1590. 

Career

In 2000, Beth started her career participating in a kickstarter project called Girls See It Be It.

According to her official LinkedIn, she is listed as a professional athlete for the Women’s United Soccer Association in New York City for one year.

Beth began working at the bio architecture lab in Berkeley, California as a director of research and development of aquaculture from 201- 2013.  She held two more positions before founding her own company, Umaro Foods in January 2018.

Umaro Foods is described as, “Working towards the future of planet friendly protein,” on LinkedIn.  

She is multi-lingual!  She also speaks Spanish.  


Amanda Stiles

Life

Amanda Stiles resides in Berkeley, California.  

She’s definitely a Shark Tank fan!  She follows Mark Cuban and SPANX founder Sara Blakely 

Education

She attended Virginia Tech and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1999.  Amanda continued her education, earning her PhD in Plant Molecular Biology in 2007.  

Career

Amanda began her career as a Postdoc/Labratory Manager at UC Berkeley for 4 years.  She then moved on to work as a research scientist in Beijing, China for a year and a half.  

Amanda returned back to the United States and continued her work at UC Berkeley in California for almost two years.  

She is an entrepreneurial research fellow at cyclotron road since June 2020.  

Amanda is currently a co-founder and CTO for Umaro Foods also with her partner, Beth Zotter.  

Similarly to her partner Beth, Amanda is multi-lingual.  According to her official LinkedIn, she has working proficiency in German, elementary proficiency in Mandarin, and working proficiency in Spanish.
